Soundslike 27.5’s are better for what you’re riding on now but if you want and plan on getting more techy and dh trails then 29 is the way to go. I’m a shorter rider and 29’s def fee more stable too. If you just want to run faster and breath.. 29er. If you want more enjoyable ride and chill. Get the monster 27.5. 275”: Faster acceleration is often cited as one of the biggest benefits of a 27.5” wheel when compared to a 29” wheel. Wheels that accelerate faster give a bike a snappy, responsive feel that many riders desire. 29”: The29” wheel is around 7% heavier than the 27.5” wheel and taking into consideration it’s larger radius, the moment of inertia of the 29” wheel will be approximately 20% higher than the 27.5” wheel (making some simplifying assumptions). This makes the 29” wheel harder to accelerate, requiring more torque to get up to the same speed. Somebrands say that the optimal travel cut-off for a 29er is approximately 130mm, then we see more and more 27.5" wheels above this in the trail, enduro and all-mountain categories. They provide a greater rollover and stability while retaining the agility of a smaller 26-inch wheel. On a 29er, the handlebars are wider than on a 26" or 27.5" to account for the larger wheels. If you're turning right, for instance, and your reach to the handlebars is already strained, you will struggle to get full extension of your left arm while remaining in the correct position over the rest of the bike. This puts you in a 'difficult-at Afew years after 29-inch wheels started to become standard, some engineers in the bike industry began advocating for a wheel size that was right in between the old and the new. This was the 27.5-inch wheel. Advocates of 27.5-inch wheels, sometimes called 650b wheels, said that the middle size was the best of 29er and 26 Thatsaid, the size difference between 26β€³ and 27.5β€³ isn’t substantial. In practice, a quality 27.5β€³ will take just as much abuse as a 26β€³ model. 27.5β€³ wheels bridge the gap between 26β€³ and 29β€³ wheels. 29β€³ wheels offer a lot of speed and have an easy time rolling over obstacles, but those qualities come at a price .
